1. New Year Resolutions. I’m not sure what I think about resolutions – I think they are a great idea, but rarely are they ever executed. I really like this post from Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere where instead of goals, she wrote a list of things she’s looking forward to doing most next year. It inspired me to make my own list.
Here are some things I’m looking forward to this year:
Plan a vacation to NYC. Run more, work up to a half marathon in June with Tim. Start a wine group. Host monthly dinners with friends. De-clutter my closet. Eat at the dining room table. Write more handwritten notes. Read more books. Discover more of the city in which I live. Go on more walks with my husband. Drink more water. Dress up more. Go to the movies on Tuesday ($4). Volunteer more. Plan more after work cocktails. Eat dessert for dinner. Plan secret date nights. Be active. Be present.
2. Seriously – I can’t wait to try these!! I think one of my favorite recipe bloggers to follow is Jessica from How Sweet It Is. She makes the most amazing things, including this recipe for Crockpot Pulled Pork and Beer Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Check out her blog and start cooking!
4. Spend time on my friendships. I really want to spend extra time this year on my friendships, to see everyone and spend quality time. I feel like it’s the calm before the baby storm. Soon, we’re going to start making our own families, and it’s going to get even harder to make the time and stay connected.
5. Live your life well this year.
