Because it’s Tuesday and because I ate really healthy today… I wanted to share this delicious chocolate cake recipe with you.
This recipe caught my eye from Martha Stewart because it was titled, “One Bowl Chocolate Cake” – which is my favorite – one bowl, little clean-up.
Sorry, I’m not sorry.
Oh Oh It’s magic – you knowwwww.
One Bowl Chocolate Cake (Recipe inspired from here)
Baking spray (for pans)
3/4 C. unsweetened cocoa powder (plus 2 Tbsp. for pans)
1 1/2 C. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 Tsp. baking soda
3/4 Tsp. baking powder
3/4 Tsp. salt
2 large eggs
3/4 C. skim milk
3/4 C. warm water
3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 Tsp. pure vanilla extract
Chocolate Frosting (I use canned)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray two 8-inch round cake pans (2 inches deep); dust with cocoa. Sift cocoa, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the bowl of a mixer. Beat on low speed until combined. Raise speed to medium, and add eggs, milk, water, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth, about 3 minutes.
Divide batter between pans. Bake until set and it passes the toothpick test, about 35 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes. Turn out from pans and transfer to wire racks. Let cool completely.
Spread chocolate frosting (about 1 1/2 cups) onto top of 1 cooled layer. Top with remaining layer; frost top and sides with remaining frosting.
