I was so happy to head back to Columbia, MO last weekend to help celebrate one of my dearest friends, Emily and her marriage to the wonderful Mo.
My fabulous friends Melody and Kris hosted this beautiful reception at their home in their backyard. I swear, Melody needs to go into events for a living – everything she does is above and beyond what any normal person would do.
** Emily's friend Liesl was generous enough to lend me a couple of the pictures she took at the reception. She’s such a pro.
Starting with the centerpieces. Melody went with these beautiful pink peonies, mason jars, burlap and tea lights. Adding a little extra flare, she used wooden balls she already had laying around the house.
She created a beautiful head table for guests to gather around and eat.

She also had cocktail tables upstairs for people to mingle around with beautiful pink peonies.
I made some fun “wedding mad libs” that served as a guest book. Guests were able to fill it out for Emily and Mo.
We had some fun drink stations, including wine (dry and sweet), and lemonade stations.
Martha, one of Emily’s best friends put together a beautiful lemonade, ice tea and water station. The station was made complete with personal mason jar party gifts. To make the personalized mason jars, Martha used chalk paint and painted a small stripe along each jar. Then she provided chalk for guests to write their names on their jar.
The food was the BOMB digity! We’re in Missouri, so of course we had some great BBQ. We also had cilantro lime corn on the cob, baked beans and mac and cheese. SO SO GOOD!
We made a fun sign for people who used Instagram to post pictures of the happy couple and reception. #EmilyandMo4Ever
We also had fun props for people to take pictures with. We broke these out after a couple of cocktails.
